I’ve long felt that helping to heal the Church was a big part of our mission at the Avila Foundation, and so we continuously offer opportunities for souls to experience the renewal and restoration of the Lord who “makes all things new.”
I believe there are few people whose mission aligns as closely with ours in this way as Sr. Miriam James Heidland, SOLT. Stephanie and I have long admired her heart for healing, especially as regards to the priesthood, and so we welcome the opportunity to have her join us for an upcoming webinar to discuss her Advent devotional, Behold: A Guided Advent Journal for Prayer and Meditation and how to enter more deeply into the mystery of the Incarnation this Advent season—which, believe it or not, is fast approaching.
“This Advent we will go on a journey with Mary, Joseph, the Child Jesus, and the Holy Family. We will let them speak to us about our lives and our experiences of childhood and beyond so that Jesus can bring us into wholeness and communion,” she writes in the introduction.
None of us escapes childhood perfectly intact. I hope you will be there as we discuss with Sr. Miriam the wounds of childhood and the power of the Holy Family to lead us to a richer, profoundly healing encounter with the Lord—especially when we are surrendered to the particular graces of this coming holy season.
As we examine the healing of motherhood and fatherhood, we’ll also look at how the Church is collectively reeling from a massive spiritual father wound in the face of a priestly crisis. We’ll share how the Lord is moving through Sr. Miriam’s ministry to restore the hearts of His priests, and we will talk about the Avila Foundation’s mission to heal and help young men who feel summoned to that High Calling. And as always, we’ll take audience questions and open the conversation to you, our friends and supporters.
Please register here today for this webinar on November 7th at 7 PM Central.
The webinar will be recorded and sent out after the event to all registrants, so be sure to reserve a seat even if you cannot attend live.
We encourage you, if you are interested, to purchase a copy of Behold here. We are told that copies are limited so don’t wait! For additional information and inspiration, you can view the trailer.
Stephanie and I sincerely hope that you’ll join us—for this webinar, of course, but also into a journey of healing in our families and our hearts this Advent.
Yours in the Coming Messiah,
Dan Burke
