March 13th – Father’s Helper: A Lenten Reflection from the Diary of St. Faustina

by Charlie McKinney

Lent is a very special time for the work of priests. We should assist them in rescuing souls. (Diary, 931)

Reflection

We can be quick to volunteer at the parish: helping out as an usher, lector, extraordinary minster of the Eucharist, member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society or Legion of Mary, and so on. But we can be slow to realize we’re called to play a role in “rescuing souls.” How? Again, by our acts of kindness and mercy, and by our living our faith.

Prayer

Thank You, Dear Lord, for calling me to be a disciple to my family, my parish, my workplace, and my neighborhood.

Jesus, I trust in You.
