Strengths of Thousands: Retreat Guide on Confirmation

Strengths of Thousands: New Retreat Guide on the Sacrament of Confirmation

StrengthOfThousandsConfirmationRetreatGuide

Dear Fellow Digital Missionary,

One of my favorite lines from the Catechism says this about the special grace we received from the sacrament of confirmation: “Confirmation… strengthened us for the combat of this life” (CCC 1523).

Life in this fallen world is a battle. And as Christians, we are not only called to engage courageously in the fight, but we are also equipped to do so. We are given supernatural strength and wisdom through a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

That’s what the sacrament of confirmation is all about.

And our newest Retreat Guide, Strength of Thousands: A Retreat Guide on the Sacrament of Confirmation, is all about understanding and tapping into a little bit more of that supernatural strength. This Retreat Guide will be available on June 1st.

  • The First Meditation delves into the nature of our mission as baptized and confirmed Christians in this fallen world.
  • The Second Meditation looks at what happens in our lives when we accept and live out this mission.
  • And the conference unpacks one of Our Lord’s best-known parables in order to discover how to release the full power of the Holy Spirit in our souls.

This is our second Retreat Guide linked to the Solemnity of Pentecost. Our first, Unleashing the Power of Pentecost: A Retreat Guide on the Holy Spirit, is now available on DVD to make it easier for small group and parish studies.

I have to admit that these Retreat Guides on the Holy Spirit are especially close to my heart. Ever since I converted to Catholicism, the concept of our Christian lives as a Spirit-guided mission in this world has resonated deeply in my heart. I sincerely hope that Strength of Thousands will also resonate with you.

Check it out now, and let us know what you think. We really appreciate your feedback in order to keep pursuing our goal of evangelizing the digital continent at RCSpirituality.org.

God bless you!

In Christ,

Fr John Bartunek, LC
