St. Paul teaches that spiritual warfare begins in the mind. Not every thought in your head is your own—and you shouldn’t listen to all of them. “For the weapons of our warfare are not worldly but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every proud obstacle to the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:4–5, RSVCE)

The Catholic tradition of discernment of spirits gives us 3 steps:

1️⃣ Awareness — recognize that thoughts come from God, yourself, or the enemy.2️⃣ Analysis — test them: is this thought leading me closer to Christ, or away from Him? (Galatians 5 is a good litmus test)3️⃣ Action — Embrace holy thoughts and “dwell on what is good” (Philippians 4:8), reject the lies, “In the name of Jesus Christ I reject the lie that I’m unworthy of love and I embrace the truth that God knew me before I was born.”
