Divine Mercy Sunday

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY

This video comes from the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy at Eden Hill, in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Construction of the Shrine of the Divine Mercy was begun in 1950 and dedicated in 1960. In 1996, it was honored to be given the title of the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy. In the year 2000, Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska was canonized on Divine Mercy Sunday and the Feast of the Divine Mercy was proclaimed by St. John Paul II. On the Sunday after Easter, the National Shrine hosts the largest celebration in honor of the Divine Mercy in the Northeastern part of the United States, which has been traditionally shown on EWTN television. Thousands of pilgrims visit the site each year.

On Divine Mercy Sunday, the message of the Divine Mercy is that God loves all of us. His mercy is greater than our sins, greater than any of them! Understanding and recognizing this, we are to trust Him and call upon Him with trust, receive His mercy, and let it flow through us to others. In this way everyone will come to share His joy.
