Sacred Scripture Says Demons are in the “Regions of the Air”: Why?

Father Fortea, why does Sacred Scripture say that demons are in the “regions of the air”?

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the [regions of the air] (As Saint Paul says in Ephesians 6:11-12).

regions of the airSacred Scripture, when speaking of demons, always locates them in one of two places: in hell (that is to say, in “that which is below”) or in the air. To say that they are in the air is a way of saying that they are everywhere, that they move about with complete freedom. St. Paul repeats this again when he calls the devil “the prince of the power of the air” (Ephesians 2:2).
